Starbucks Grounded!
Well, shock shock shock---nobody picked it! All three Adelaide Starbucks stores will close this week and up to 30 people will lose their jobs. The company started here in Australia in 2000, but in 2007 made an operating loss of 36 mill, preceded by 27mill in 2006, and I would say that put the writing on the wall so to speak!
God I will miss those big Caramel Lattes nearly every week, and those big comfy seats where my friends and I would invariably plonk ourselves down and grab some free wifi coming thru the front door courtesy of Internode!,I will miss sitting there looking out at the many diverse Buskers plying their craft in the Mall,especially that russian women with the two young kids who belt out a tune on their synchronised violins while the mother sits there counting the cash!!--or the Guitar guy who brings his dog in to accompany him, alongside a stuffed dog to keep him company!
But all is not lost,I have heard that a White knight in the form of the Beanbar are very interested in taking up the mall site, So the three amigos can breathe again! I will have a double decaf thanks! --in a Mug
